Blythe Potter

Blythe Potter

Blythe was a member of the US Army Reserves Military Police Corps for ten years. She is an Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran who had the honor of being selected as one of 19 soldiers (nine females) to provide personal security detail for General George Casey. Blythe has run for office in Bargersville, Indiana, where she is leading a growing Democratic presence in Johnson County. Blythe believes that it is time to engage more Democratic Veterans to get involved with changing the status quo of the Indiana political scene and the support our government gives Veterans.

David Galvin

David Galvin

David has a diverse 20-year career in politics with impactful roles including campaign manager, communications director, and field director. He spearheaded Greg Goodnight's mayoral campaign in Kokomo, IN, in 2007, and led Glenda Ritz’s 2012 campaign for Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction, where his social media-driven grassroots strategy was nationally recognized. David is a US Navy Veteran having served as a Radioman onboard an Aegis Cruiser. He oversaw the implementation of the first email service on a US naval vessel, earning a Meritorious Unit Commendation for this project during Operation Desert Shield.

Tim Anderson

Tim Anderson

Tim is a US Navy Veteran serving as a Gunners Mate on a Destroyer in the Gulf of Tonkin off the coast of Viet Nam. He is a certified public accountant long time member of the Boone County Democrats and currently serves as treasurer. Under his leadership, BCDems has seen tremendous growth in number of members and an increase in annual fundraising.

Brandon Sakbun

Brandon Sakbun

Mayor Brandon Sakbun was an Infantry Captain in the United States Army. In May 2018, he was commissioned as an Army Officer and branched Infantry. He is a two-time graduate of Indiana University. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Finance and became a Distinguished Military Graduate through IU Army ROTC. He holds a graduate degree from the #1 ranked Masters in Public Affairs Program (O'Neill School). He served on Active Duty for almost five years. During his time in the Active Duty Army, he deployed with the 75th Ranger Regiment twice. He has experience in project management, planning at the operational and strategic level, logistics, and advising government organizations. He currently serves as a member of the Indiana National Guard.

Ed Delaney

Ed Delaney

State Representative Ed DeLaney is a retired lawyer. He has both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Shortly after college, DeLaney married Ann McGovern in 1967. He began his service as a junior officer in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Harvard Law School with honors in 1973 and began work in Indianapolis at the firm now named Barnes and Thornburg. Rep. DeLaney currently serves as a member of the Education Committee as well as the Ways and Means Committee. He is also an alternate member of the Budget Committee as well as serving as the Assistant Democratic Caucus Chair.

Lacy Johnson

Lacy Johnson

Lacy Johnson is an attorney at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP in Indianapolis where he is the partner-in-charge of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He served as a Lt. Colonel in the Indiana State Police, was a Lt. Commander of the U.S. Naval Intelligence Reserves, and served as the 7th District chairman of the Indiana State Democratic Party. He served on the Biden-Harris transition team and is a trusted advisor and supporter of many Congressional leaders and members.

Martin Del Rio

Martin Del Rio

Martin has over 10 years of experience in military and government affairs, Veterans support, and government contracting, He is a public service leader with a specialty in U.S. National Defense Warrior Recovery Programs development and coordination. He has a proven track record of delivering innovative and impactful programs. As the National Capitol Region Coordinator for Operation Warfighter at Magellan Federal, he coordinates the efforts to transition wounded military service members into meaningful federal internships and civilian careers, as well as other opportunities in the private and nonprofit sectors.

Matt Hall

Matt Hall

As the President and CEO of Operation Hired, Matt leverages 30 plus years of experience in the US Army Reserves and passion for helping Veterans to improve their quality of life in Central Indiana. He leads a motivated team that conducts proactive outreach, engagement, and coordination of local and national services and opportunities for Veterans, their families, and caregivers.

Pete Cowden

Pete Cowden

Pete grew up on the west side of Indianapolis, attending St Michaels Elementary and North Central High School before joining the US Army. Pete passed the rigorous Ranger Indoctrination Program and was stationed at Fort Benning Georgia. He was deployed three times with 3rd Ranger Battalion before injuries led to his medical retirement. After graduating from IUPUI, Pete served as an advisor to US Senator Joe Donnelly on Veterans and Defense Issues. He then transitioned to campaign work serving as a Field Organizer before running for State Senate in 2020. Pete served his fellow veterans as the Wayne Township Veterans Service Office. Recently Pete has run a construction company supervising over 20 employees. Pete is currently attending IU McKinney School of Law. Pete’s personal experience with the issues facing veterans and all Hoosiers drives his passion for continued service.

Renee Pack

Renee Pack

State Representative Renee Pack is a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1986 through 1991. She gained training as a behavioral specialist and was certified in drug and alcohol counseling. Pack is the ranking Democratic member of the Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee. She also serves on the Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development and the Family, Children and Human Affairs committees.

Todd Connor

Todd Connor

Todd is the co-founder and CEO of Veterans for All Voters. He previously founded Bunker Labs to help military Veterans and their spouses start and grow their own businesses, The Collective Academy to facilitate leadership development through corporate clients, and Emerson House which is a luxe wedding and event venue in La Porte, Indiana. He is currently serving as an Executive-in-Residence at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, serving as lead facilitator for the George W. Bush Institute's Veteran Leadership Program, and am the author of Third Shift Entrepreneur (Wiley, 2021). He serves on the boards of Progress Indiana, Bunker Labs, the National Association of Nonpartisan Reformers (NANR), as an advisory member to First Women’s Bank, and venture partner for the Academy Investor Network, among others.

Travis Barnes

Travis Barnes

Travis grew up near the small town of Albion, Indiana, which is the county seat of Noble County. The events of 9/11 sparked Travis to leave college in 2001. He enlisted as an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps and was then selected for the elite Marine Recon, where he served three combat tours in Iraq with First Reconnaissance Battalion. Travis returned to Indiana in 2006, where he completed his degree in political science. Travis went on to earn his law degree in the spring of 2013, where he met his wife Hilary. After law school, Travis and Hilary founded Hotel Tango Artisan Distillery in downtown Indianapolis. Hotel Tango is the first service-disabled, Veteran-owned distillery in the U.S. Our mission is to create unrivaled experiences through premium artisan spirits. In his spare time, Travis enjoys spending time with his daughters, Vada, Frances, and Louise, and traveling with his beloved wife Hilary.
