Pete Cowden

Advisory Council

Pete grew up on the west side of Indianapolis, attending St Michaels Elementary and North Central High School before joining the US Army. Pete passed the rigorous Ranger Indoctrination Program and was stationed at Fort Benning Georgia. He was deployed three times with 3rd Ranger Battalion before injuries led to his medical retirement. After graduating from IUPUI, Pete served as an advisor to US Senator Joe Donnelly on Veterans and Defense Issues. He then transitioned to campaign work serving as a Field Organizer before running for State Senate in 2020. Pete served his fellow veterans as the Wayne Township Veterans Service Office. Recently Pete has run a construction company supervising over 20 employees. Pete is currently attending IU McKinney School of Law. Pete’s personal experience with the issues facing veterans and all Hoosiers drives his passion for continued service.
